TERRIERS FOUNDATION believes that education plays an important role in the development process. Education is the most important thing in the development of any community. The children from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are deprived of education. They have decided not to be deprived of education and have opened supplementary education centres with the intention of providing education to the Dalits. These ten supplementary centres will continue to be successful. About five hundred children are receiving education in the supplementary education centre. We have provided educational materials and play equipment for these children. Children are learning better and actively participating in extracurricular activities. Children make a good drawing on environmental protection.
Supplementary Education Centres are available in Davanagere, Nittuvalli AK Colony, Chikkanahalli Hut, Harihara AK Colony, Hosakundawada AK Colony, SPS Nagar, Babujagajeevan Ram Nagar, Gandhinagar, Azad Nagar, Anandakonda AK Colony, Channagiri AK Colony. Supplementary education centres have been operating successfully for the past one year. The children in the centres are mostly from Sweepers and Sanitary Worker and manual scavengers’ families
Children at Tuition Centres
Seventy-five youth are trained in life skills and psycho-social care at the Rotary Club of Davanagere. It was held on ………. (mention the date).The basic purpose of training is to empower young people to face difficult situations and to manage life better. The youth were given three days training in Psycho-Social care with the help of TDH Germany and a joint venture with the National Institute of Mental Health and Nureo Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. Dr. Sanjay Kumar is the resource person for the training.
Two days gender training was held at the Rotary Boys House of Davangere from 24-09-2020 to 25-09-2020 for youths. Mrs. Priscilla and Mrs. Vidya as resource persons and provided training to the youths. Briefed on POSCO Act, the Anti-Child Labour Act and the Child Marriage Prohibition Act. They also trained in Juvenile Justice Act.
Forty-five young people’s tuition fees have been supported by TDH Germany and UK Online Giving. TERRIERS FOUNDATION have paid the school fee and received the receipt. The youth of Gandhinagar, Azad Nagar, Anekonda, Nittuvalli, SPS Nagar, Jagjivan Ram Nagar, Hoskundavadu have been benefited. Toal ……. Youths are assisted. All these youths are studying well. However, due to Corona spread and the lockdown are interrupted. We have provided books for youngsters to prepare for the competitive examination.
With the help of TDH-Germany, AID distributed play materials to ten supplementary education centre/ Tuition Centre children. AID believes that the basic personality of children develops from play. Children develop co-operation and harmony through play. Through this, the personality development take place among the children. Every Saturday have been announced as games day. Every Saturday the children play a lot. The children share a wonderful joy with each other.

TERRIERS FOUNDATION assisted forty-one youths training with the help of TDH Germany. TERRIERS FOUNDATION have provided tailoring training for twenty-two young girls, computer education training for eight youths and driving training for twelve youths. Few youths are started their own micro enterprises and are self-employed. Young men and women are interested in vocational training.
TERRIERS FOUNDATION distributed educational materials to children with the help of various donors. TERRIERS FOUNDATION distributed notebooks to children from TDH Germany and CRST. There were 500 children have been benefited.
TERRIERS FOUNDATION imparted awareness on The Prohibition of Employment to Manual Scavengers and Their Rehabilitation Act-2013. Importantly, Manual Scavenger families have been told that they can have rehabilitation facility under the Act. Prior to that, the person who cleans the human excreta by manual has to declare itself for identification. It was only after receiving a deed of identification that the entire family was entitled for rehabilitation in accordance with the MS Act.
TERRIERS FOUNDATION is actively engaging young men and women. Now more than a hundred young people are connected to TERRIERS FOUNDATION. All these young men seek help in one way or another. Young people and children actively participated in the World Environment Day, World Earth Day, World Youth Day and so on. On the occasion of World Red Hand Day, TERRIERS FOUNDATION celebrated the World Day on Children. TERRIERS FOUNDATION imparted awareness about the importance of the day and which situation the days are celebrated and what action to be taken from the children and youths. Children should not recruit for job before attaining the age of 18. It is prohibited as per the Act.

TERRIERS FOUNDATION has launched a sponsorship program for children with the help of UK Online Giving. Distributes nutritious food items to children. Mainly distributes notebook, pen, pencil, rubber twice a year for children. This is of great use to poor the poor children who could not offered to buy. TERRIERS FOUNDATION have a plan to distribute a pair of dresses to children.
